What does our editorial process look like?

By the time an article goes live on our platform, it’s already been viewed, reviewed and re-reviewed by both our medical review and editorial teams. It’s a collaborative effort from start to finish, and we take pride in not only getting the information right, but also presenting that information in a way that’s accessible to — and inclusive of — everyone.

How up-to-date is our medical information?

The hims medical experts review every article before it goes live on our platform and any time adjustments are made to a page’s content. You can find the latest review date under the title of each article, along with the name of the medical expert who reviewed it. Our content is periodically updated on an as-needed basis as new information becomes available, if we materially change anything, etc. The goal, of course, being to ensure that you can trust that whatever you read here, whenever you read it, is accurate and up to date.

What type of sources do we use?

All of the sources approved in our articles are of the highest quality and extremely reliable. Specifically, we strive to use primary sources and refrain from using tertiary references. These sources are attributed to — and limited to — peer-reviewed scientific journals, government agencies, renowned research institutions and our in-house medical experts.

Who are the medical experts?
