As part of your weight loss plan, you can access compounded GLP-1 injections if a provider determines it’s right for you.

Compounded GLP-1s are only one injection per week. If prescribed, a licensed provider will include treatment instructions with your weight loss plan.

Some common side effects of compounded semaglutide include nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting.

If appropriate, a provider will prescribe a compounded GLP-1 injection based on your health history and weight loss goals.

Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved. FDA does not evaluate compounded products for safety, effectiveness, or quality.

What is compounded semaglutide?

Working with FDA-registered outsourcing facilities, Hims is able to offer access to compounded semaglutide, a GLP-1 injection with the same active ingredient as Ozempic® and Wegovy®. Unlike branded weight loss injections, these do not come in preloaded injection pens, but don’t worry, Hims will show you how to take your injection.

What to expect with GLP-1 injections.

  • This medication is a once-a-week injection.
  • The medication is in a vial, with a syringe included for injection.
  • If prescribed, you’ll be provided with a step-by-step tutorial of how to inject.
  • If prescribed, your provider will start your treatment at a lower dose to help minimize common early side effects and help your body adjust.
  • While your body adjusts to the medication, you may experience some mild side effects. The most common side effects of compounded semaglutide are: nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting.
  • Side effects are a common part of the weight loss treatment journey and should subside over the first month.
