A heads-up that keeps you in the game

  • Some cancers are found in in-person physicals, but 81% of cancers in men aren’t regularly screened for.²

  • Many cancers can hide quietly until later when treatment is harder. Now look for a cancer signal, potentially before symptoms arise.³

  • Test for a signal shared by 50+ types1 of cancer.

The science behind the test

Cancer cells

leave a trace

All cells shed DNA fragments into your bloodstream. Cancer cells leave behind fragments with distinct, identifiable patterns that help to detect them.

A signal

is detected

Using a blood screen, the Galleri test looks for those unique DNA patterns to spot a signal linked to several types of cancer.

Cancer origin

predicted

If a signal is detected, the test uses advanced machine learning and methylation pattern recognition to analyze DNA fragments and predict likely signal origin.

Whatever the results,
 a clear path forward

Get a straightforward summary of your results, along with an explanation of what they mean and guidance for next steps.

Diagnostic testing is needed to confirm cancer. The test does not detect a signal for all cancers, and not all cancers can be detected in the blood. False positive and false negative results do occur. We recommend talking to your healthcare provider to determine if additional testing is needed.

Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri® FAQs

What is the Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri®?

The Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri® is a simple annual screen that analyzes DNA fragments in your blood to detect a signal linked to 50+ cancer types not commonly tested for, including lung, pancreatic, and liver.1 The signal indicates potential cancer cells present in your body at the time of testing, allowing you to proactively check for a signal of 50+ cancers, potentially before symptoms appear.

If a Cancer Signal is found, the test will predict the likely area of origin in your body.

The test does not detect a signal for all cancers, and not all cancers can be detected in the blood. False positive and false negative results do occur. The Galleri® test should be used in addition to healthcare provider-recommended screening tests. 1. In a clinical study, the Galleri® test detected a signal shared by more than 50 types of cancer. Not all 50+ cancers occur in both males and females. Klein EA, Richards D, Cohn A, et al. Clinical validation of a targeted methylation-based multi-cancer early detection test using an independent validation set. Ann Oncol. 2021;32(9):1167-77. doi: 10.1016/j.annonc.2021.05.806

Why should I consider this test?

Men face cancers that can develop silently and be missed in early stages, like lung, pancreatic, and liver.2 About 1 in 2 men will develop invasive cancer in their lifetime,3 while recommended screenings cannot detect more than 81% of men’s cancers.4

Early detection can make a meaningful difference. When colon and rectum cancer is found earlier vs. after it has spread to other organs, the five-year survival rate can improve from 15.2% to 90.7%.5

Which cancers does Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri® screen for?

In a clinical study, the Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri® detected a signal shared by more than 50 types of cancer, including lung, pancreatic, and liver.6 You can see the full list of cancers here.

The Galleri® test does not detect a signal for all cancers, and not all cancers can be detected in the blood. Galleri® is a screening test and does not diagnose cancer. Diagnostic testing is needed to confirm cancer.

Is the test diagnostic?

No, the Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri® is not diagnostic. If a Cancer Signal is detected, further diagnostic testing in person is needed to confirm cancer. The test does not detect a signal for all cancers, and not all cancers can be detected in the blood. False positive and false negative results do occur. We recommend talking to your healthcare provider to determine if additional testing is needed.

Can the test provide a genetic risk assessment or predict future risk?

No, the Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri® is a point-in-time test that identifies DNA in the bloodstream shed by cancer cells present.

What can I expect when I receive my results?

You’ll be notified once your results are available. Your results will either indicate Cancer Signal Detected or No Cancer Signal Detected.

If a Cancer Signal is detected, it’s not a cancer diagnosis. A provider will contact you as soon as possible, typically within 15 hours, to discuss your results. Your results will include a prediction of the tissue type or organ associated with the Cancer Signal, called a Cancer Signal Origin.

For next steps, we recommend that you download and share your results with your in-person healthcare provider, who may suggest further testing and imaging. If you don't have a healthcare provider, you have access to call a Galleri® Patient Advocate. You can also email patient-advocate@GRAILbio.com to set up a time to speak with an advocate.

What does it mean if I receive a No Cancer Signal Detected result?

This result doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of cancer. While the Galleri® test is a powerful tool, it cannot detect a signal for all cancers, and not all cancers can be detected in the blood. Some cancers shed little or no DNA into the bloodstream, making them unlikely to be detected through a blood test. False positive and false negative results do occur. This result does not predict whether you will develop cancer in the future.

How often should I take this test?

It’s recommended to perform the Hims Multi-Cancer Test by Galleri® annually. Cancer can develop at any time. Even if no Cancer Signal is found at the time you take the test, changes in your body can occur over time, and having regular checkups can help you stay ahead.
